Skier Killed in Avalanche Near Cooke City, Montana Yesterday | 6-Foot Deep Crown

A skier was killed in an avalanche on 10,338โ€ฒ Henderson Mountain near Cooke City, Montana yesterday. Another skier was caught in the avalanche as well, was partially buried and uninjured. Current Freeride World Tour Champion Dies in Avalanche Today

The Swiss police are reporting today that Swiss snowboarder Estelle Balet, the current Freeride World Tour snowboard champion, has died in an avalanche. 5 Killed in Large Avalanche in Canada Friday:

5 snowmobilers were killed in a large avalanche near McBride, B.C. yesterday, according to Donita Cuzma of the British Columbia Coroners Service.  Itโ€™s being reported that all of the deceased were from Alberta and between the ages of 40 and 55.  The avalanche occurred on the flanks of Mt. One Killed, One Injured by Avalanche in Mt. Baker, WA Backcountry Yesterday

Avalanche Death on Hatcher Pass, Alaska Yesterday | 4th Avy Fatality of 2015/16

Heli-Skier Killed in Avalanche in New Zealand Today

A 58-year-old heli skier was killed by an avalanche at 2:30pm today in New Zealandโ€™s Hector Mountains near the town of Kingston on the south isle. Skier Dies in Avalanche in Chile Today After Heavy Snowfall

The Cronica Chillan newpaper is reporting that a 23-year old Viรฑa del Mar, Chile named Luciano Cueneo Olhaberry died today from injuries suffered in an avalanche in the backcountry near the Nevados de Chillan ski resort in Chile. Luciano was skiing out of bounds with a foreigner who was reportedly also caught in the avalanche but escaped uninjured and was able to notify rescuers. Ski patrollers were able to locate the buried skier within 50 minutes. Luciano was not carry an avalanche transceiver, nor probe, nor shovel.

3 Spanish Climbers Die in Avalanche in Kyrgyzstan Today

Three very young Spanish climbers died in an avalanche in Kyrgyzstan today. These climbers were aged 18, 24, and 24 and were all in Kyrgyzstan climbing for a month with the Federation of Catalan Excursionists. The climbers were climbing a rock face near the summit of 12,700-foot Akun-Too when an avalanche ripped them off the rock. Their bodies have been recovered and are being returned to Spain. These men were part of a 9-person team that was being lead by an instructor from their federation. None of their companions were involved in the avalanche.

Avalanche in Peru Kills Three | One Survives 24-Hours in 65โ€ฒ Deep Crevasse

An avalanche came down on four famous Estonian mountaineers in Peruโ€™s Cordillera Blanca last Sunday. The avalanche threw the four mountaineers into a 65-foot deep crevasse. One of the Estonians has been rescued from the crevasse. The other three climbers are still missing and assumed to have perished. We are sad to report that 42-year-old Stephen P. Adamson, Jr passed away Tuesday evening, May 19th, 2015 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Stephen died due to the injuries he sustained after a bad fall caused by a small avalanche on Mt. Moran last Saturday. Avalanche Kills 1, Injures 2 on Mt. Moran, WY Yesterday

One skier was killed and two others injured yesterday morning when an avalanche swept them down the very intense Sickle Couloir on Mount Moran in Wyoming. The avalanche reportedly swept the skiers 500-vertical-feet down the couloir over rock and ice. The man killed was Luke Lynch, a 38-year-old Jackson, WY resident. Skier Killed in Avalanche Near Big Sky

A 28-year old Bozeman man died in a small avalanche Saturday afternoon, just north of Big Sky, Montana. Jens Anderson, along with three friends, was skiing the Hanging Garden couloir on Beehive Peak. Mountain Guide Dies in Avalanche in Western Canada

45-year-old mountain guide and son of Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH) founder Robson Gmoser died in a size 3 avalanche near Golden, B.C. on Tuesday at 5pm. He was skiing solo near Sorcerer Lodge, a mountain hut near Mt. Iconoclast. Gmoser had broken his femur in an avalanche in this same zone several years ago. Snowboarder With No Avalanche Gear Dies in Utah Avalanche Today

A snowboarder with no avalanche equipment died in an avalanche in Hells Canyon (near Snowbasin ski resort), Utah today. At Least 124 Killed in Avalanches in Afghanistan

According to local officials, heavy winter snow caused large avalanches that killed at least 124 people in Northeastern Afghanistan. Snowmobilers Dies in Avalanche in B.C. | 4th Avalanche Death in Canada

A 2-meter-deep (6.6-foot-deep) avalanche killed a snowmobiler near Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada on February 22nd, 2015. Three snowmobilers in a group of seven were caught in the avalanche. Two of the three were rescued by the group but the third succumbed to his injuries and died on site. This is only the 4th avalanche death in Canada this winter. The USA has only had 5 this year. Canada averages about 14 avalanche deaths per year. The USA averages about 35 avalanche deaths per year. [โ€ฆ]

Weekend Death Toll Rises to 5 in Alps | 28th Avy Death in France

A male skier in his 50s was killed in an avalanche on February 22nd, 2015 in the French Alps. He was skiing with three other skiers when the avalanche struck. All four were caught in the avalanche. Two of the surviving skiers were severely injured in the slide and one woman was uninjured. The avalanche occurred at 1:30pm at an elevation of 1,700m (5,577-feet) in the Taillefer range of the French alps near the town of Val dโ€™Isere about 25 miles south of Grenoble. This was the 28th avalanche death in France this winter. There have been 25 avalanche deaths in Switzerland this year. There have been over 80 avalanche deaths in Europe this year. [โ€ฆ]
