VIDEO: Speed Rider Slides Chairlift Cable

This is nuts. Speed Rider Valentin Delluc slides an out-of-use chairlift cable while ski-gliding down the mountain. The 22-year old frenchman has been skiing his whole life, and started paragliding at age 11. It was only a matter of time before the two came together… From Valentin’s vimeo (translated from French): WARNING: This slide into speed riding is very complicated and dangerous to carry !!! It really does not try to replicate this kind of thing . Only after thousands and thousands of hours of practice I could envisage making this slide . The […]

VIDEO | Wingsuit Flying Over Skiers

America is the land of the free, but in Europe you are free to fly your wingsuit over skiers. Who is more free? Who knows. But this is pretty much insane and a great way to get all the adrenaline junkies on the same page. Right around 1:40 one of the wingsuit pilots goes for, what I can only assume is the equivalent of a wingsuit hand drag! I think this is a first, definitely haven’t seen wingsuit flying over skiers and paragliders.

More Proof the French are Crazy | Chamonix Skiers Going Nuts: in documentary โ€œDownSide Up”

“Itโ€™s a shame to get the rope out. Better to fall than get the rope out.โ€ Eh, I dunno. I think Iโ€™d get the rope out. The whole โ€œliving on the edgeโ€ cliche is obnoxious at this point in mountaineering and skiing. Yet, Iโ€™ve got to use it here. These guys are living so close to the edge that a sneeze could be deadly. But, theyโ€™re clearly having fun and the places they go are stunningly beautiful. โ€œWith […]
