X-Games Aspen 2021: Pending Permit Approval, Athletes Only, No Spectators

ESPN submitted a special request permit to Pitkin County, CO to allow X Games Aspen to get the green light. The permit request details having a fenced-in area and no more than 500 people at the event. The 500 people will include athletes and event support. Tahoeโ€™s David Wise Wins Gold in Ski Halfpipe in Driving Sleet

We know, we know, David Wise is from Reno, not Tahoe, but you canโ€™t ski halfpipe in Reno. You gotta come up to Lake Tahoe, California to do that. So, weโ€™ll claim him. And why wouldnโ€™t we wanna claim David. The guy is a white-hot halfpipe robot right now. He won the gold medal at X-Games in 2012, 2013, and 2014 before winning a gold medal in the first ever Olympic ski halfpipe competition yesternight. Very impressive, David. [โ€ฆ]

Shaun White Does NOT Medal in Halfpipe | Swiss I-Pod Takes Gold

Shaun White did not get an Olympic medal this year in halfpipe. The last time someone other than Shaun won gold in halfpipe was in 2002. A huge congrats has to go out to Switzerlandโ€™s I-Pod (Iouri Podladtchikov) for winning gold and an even bigger congrats to Japan for taking the Silver and Bronze medals. 15-year-old Ayumu Hirano took Silver and 18-year-old Taku Hiraoka grabbed the bronze. There were no Americanโ€™s on the podium for the first time since 1998 when halfpipe made itโ€™s Olympic debut. [โ€ฆ]
