Skier Dies in Avalanche in Chile Today After Heavy Snowfall The Cronica Chillan newpaper is reporting that a 23-year old Viña del Mar, Chile named Luciano Cueneo Olhaberry died today from injuries suffered in an avalanche in the backcountry near the Nevados de Chillan ski resort in Chile. Luciano was skiing out of bounds with a foreigner who was reportedly also caught in the avalanche but escaped uninjured and was able to notify rescuers.
