Whistler, B.C. Conditions Report: Deep Snow with 25-35″ Forecast Next 4 Days The storm has rolled in. On Thursday Whistler was getting pounded with snow all day. However, as with most of the storms that roll into Whistler, it is all a game of freezing levels. The freezing line Thursday was just a few hundred meters from the top of Roundhouse on Whistler, and then a few hundred meters above the bottom of the Jersey chair on Blackcomb. Above freezing line there was about knee deep of nice wet pow and in the alpine the snow seemed to be sticking to everything as long as it was not directly in the strong winds. The recent storm has brought in around 44cm of snow on the mountain making for some of the deepest snow of the year so far. The weekend was crowded with as it was the last weekend of the holiday season for most. On Monday the crowds seemed to dissipate a bit, however there were still some lines at the lifts as locals looked to get the goods. On Monday, I started the day by doing a couple of Jersey laps. Things were super fun in the morning as the snow was deep. This recent storm opened up a lot of terrain on the mountain […] Conditions Report Peter Wentz | January 5, 2015 0 Comments
DEEPcember in JACKSON HOLE! The snow at Jackson Hole has been absolutely ridiculous!! 66โ of snow has fallen since December 14th. Only one day during that period did not have measurable snow!! Saturday the 28th was the deepest day of the season, so far, and possibly being the deepest day in years! Snow! There is a lot of it, during this period we have seen varying densities of snow, starting out heavy and turning very light with colder temps. The heavier, higher moisture content snow that fell the previous week laid down an incredible base for the lighter density snow that has fallen over the past few days.
