Astronomical Event: Jupiter, Venus, And The Moon To Form A Smiley Face Next Month In times like these, the world needs reasons to smile. Luckily for us, the cosmos is about to lend a hand with that. On May 16, a crescent moon, beneath Venus & Jupiter, will form a smiley face in the sky. This spectacle is called conjunction and is quite rare. The last time this happened was 12 years ago in […] Brains The Brains | April 30, 2020 0 Comments

Whistler Conditions Report: Slushy Days Within this past week Whistler has seen a lot of sun and some clouds mixed in here and there. The mornings may be a bit icy and hardpack all over the mountain but as long as you wait until the afternoon and ski the sunny slopes you will have a good time skiing off of the groomers. These warm temperatures have made the snow pretty fun by later in the day with some soft spring skiing. Shaded areas have remained firm but the grooming has been on point making it possible to rip super fast without any worries. I have been skiing on 7th for most days and the Coulior on the skiers right side by the […] Conditions Report Peter Wentz | March 10, 2015 1 Comment
Whistler Conditions Report: Sunny Days Over the last week the sun has been shining down on Whistler Blackcomb. It has made it possible to go deep in the alpine, go shred some soft spring snow in the sun on resort, or hit up the park. As long as you played it smart and stayed away from the shaded skied out areas you were bound to have a sunny, fun time. I spent most of the last week going to Blackcomb. The groomers were super-fast and smooth in the morning, so I would start the day with a few laps on 7th Heaven or Glacier. I have not spent much time laying in hard groomer turns before, but it […] Conditions Report Peter Wentz | February 25, 2015 0 Comments
Crystal Mountain Conditions Report | Return of Winter? Something strange happened this past week in Washington. It snowed. Sure, the accumulation only stacked up to 6 inches, but after weeks of high pressure any snow is welcome. Snow is snow, you can tell because of the way it is (and sticks in the trees). It didn’t rain, it snowed, and that’s all that matters. Luckily stayed low through the end of the week, so the new snow didn’t immediately […] Conditions Report Chaz Diamond | February 22, 2015 0 Comments
Crystal Mountain Conditions Report | Goodbye, June-uary. Skiing in the blazing sun and 45 degree weather isn’t what January is usually about. But, this hasn’t been a typical snow year in the PNW. Forecasts called for a high of 39 and ‘broken clouds’ at Crystal Mountain yesterday, but the forecast was wrong. Saturday brought temperatures that stayed in the mid-40’s all day long and clear skies. With the inversion socking in Seattle the sun was a welcome change from the gray […] Conditions Report Chaz Diamond | February 1, 2015 0 Comments
