The Wyoming Department of Transportation (‘WYDOT’) has advised that the Teton Pass/WY22 will be closed for avalanche control from Friday, December 8, 2023, at 3:00 a.m. There is strictly no parking at the summit of Teton Pass and Coal Creek beginning at 8:00 p.m. tonight, December 7, 2023.
The WY22 will be closed for avalanche mitigation between Jackson and the Idaho state line, mileposts 7-17. The closure is expected to last two hours. Highway users and backcountry skiers and boarders are advised to plan accordingly.
Please note that there is no trailer traffic and a weight limit of 60,000 GVW over the Teton Pass between Jackson and the Idaho state line from milepost 7 to 17.
Please check the WYDOT website for updates before traveling as conditions can change. Please keep in mind that the area is subject to winter conditions and poor visibility and snow on the road can hinder your driving. Make sure you are well prepared before venturing out.
