These Are the 40+ Ski Resorts That Are Open in North America This Weekend

All good things must come to an end—even our ski seasons. However, some mountains, graced with prime geographic locations and strong, lingering snowpacks, clean-cut deals with the Forest Service or those who privately own their land, can remain open well into the spring and even summer. These North American ski resorts refuse to give in to the change of the season. Let the good times roll…

These resorts offer a variety of spring skiing experiences, from high-altitude groomers to slushy terrain parks. Timberline Lodge in Oregon stands out with its extended season, operating through mid-August yearly, while Beartooth Basin in Montana provides a unique summer skiing opportunity, opening in late May as America’s ‘summer only’ ski area.
