Tignes, France, Announces Early Season Opening

Following recent heavy snowfalls of more than a meter (40 inches) and continued efforts by mountain operations, the French resort Tignes decided to open part of its ski area from Saturday, November 18, 2023. Snowsport lovers will be able to enjoy the ski area on the Grande Motte glacier area as well as the ski run ‘Double M’ down to the Val Claret. The wider resort area is slated to open on Saturday, November 25, as initially planned.

To top it off, you can enjoy the first turns of the season at Tignes for as little as €10 ($11) a day. This special discount will be available all weekend (November 18 & 19). From November 20, ski passes will be €38 ($41) per day.

Opening Hours from November 11-24, 2023:

  • Funicular Perce Neige : 09:15 – 15:00 (last descent at 16:00)
  • Grande Motte cable car : 09:30 – 15:30
  • Vanoise chairlift : 09:45 – 15:00
  • Bollin chairlift : 09:00 – 16:30
