Report from April 14, 2024

On Sunday I got the nod to take a fun group of skiers on a heli-assisted ski tour with Pulseline Adventure.

Malou Peterson, Etienne, and Carson.

We chose to get dropped off near “Girls” and drop down into the Hoodoo Glacier zone.

The first run held happy, fun, blower powder.

The second run was right next to an hours-old serac fall.

The fresh ice chunks sparkled in the sun as we skinned by.

That run next to the ice fall held incredible, dry, smokey snow.

Not too deep, not too shallow.

Just friggin’ right!

We were all pumped after that run and started climbing back towards the road.

We skied down the long southern exposure in some crusty snow then snow machine eaten snow down low.

We found an ice cave to ski through that was extra cool.

We then cruised down to the road and hopped in the van towards home.

This was only the 2nd time I’d done the heli-assisted touring and both trips have been rad.

Thanks, Alaska!
