Valle Nevado, Chile Just got 45cms of Snow in 48 Hours

Does this freak you out?  It should.

South America is getting record early season snowfalls right now.  So much so, that many ski resorts are opening much earlier than normal.

Valle Nevado, Chile just got 45cms of snow in 48 hours and they plan on opening very soon.  Possibly next week.  They are teasing us right now with nebulous information, but we think they’ll announce that they are going to open on Saturday.

This is huge.  Many years, skiing and riding in South America isn’t really possible until mid-late July.  This year is going to be different.

The forecast looks good for Valle Nevado this week with more snow mid-week.
