VIDEO: The Biggest Air of the Year @ Squaw Valley USA

It appears that the biggest air of the year at Squaw Valley occurred on closing day, April 27th, 2014.  It was performed by teenager Ross Tester and it must have been in the ballpark of 50 feet.

This air just doesn’t make sense.  I think even many longtime Mainline Pocket hucksters would have a hard time understanding just what it is that Ross did here.  I’d love to hear what the Gaffneys think of this air.  Robb, Scott, you out there?

The only other air this season that comes close to this was the guy who poached Center Line in the Chimney last week.

He just cleared the rocks and it was a hairy air, but he pulled it off.

Right after Ross sends this huge air to near stomp, his buddy sends the Mystery Double huge and pulls off a backslap stomp and skis away.

Not bad for the funky leftovers of a 16-inch storm on closing day on a year at Squaw that only saw 297″ of snow on the upper mountain.

Props boys.  Those were some large airs.

  1. I aired over the whole thing last year but a bit further down I think it was a bit bigger but that was last year.

  2. And no poles. Teenagers can pull that shit of cause, they’re invincible, and they’re brains don’t work quite right.
