VIDEO: Hockey Fans Throw 28,815 Teddy Bears Onto The Ice Yesterday in Calgary

This video is fun, funny, awesome, and almost dizzying.  It’s insane to see just how many Teddy Bears get thrown onto the ice.  Even more fun is watching the Calgary Hitmen get giddy, jump, and swim in them.

Hockey fans watching the Calgary Hitmen threw 28,815 Teddy Bears onto the ice yesterday.  They Teddy Bears were throw for charity as part of the annual Teddy Bear Toss.  This was the Teddy Bear Toss’ 21st year.  Since its inception in 1995, the Teddy Bear Toss has collected 300,000 Teddy Bears.

Yesterday’s game was the Calgary Hitmen’s first ever sellout with 19,289 fans present.  The Hitmen are a major junior hockey team that plays in the NHL’s Calgary Flames area.

Each fan threw 1.49 Teddy Bears.
