A viral video of a bear in Lake Tahoe leaving its den during winter has people blaming climate change and a warm winter.
However, a local expert says the threat is actually something else, says ABC7 News Bay Area. She says newcomers to the area are “carelessly going about their daily lives without any regard for the fact that they’ve come to bear country,” and their habits are messing with the animals’ behavior patterns.
