VIDEO: Mt. Baker is CLOSED | Mt. Shuksan is OPEN and Powdery

Mt. Baker ski resort is closed, but adjacent to the ski area is the gorgeous and ominous Mt. Shuksan.  Shuksan holds some incredible ski terrain.  These boys chose the big climb up to Shuksan’s Whitesalmon glacier.  They put 14 hours of skiing in and were well rewarded with great snow and killer terrain.

This same crew got after it on Monday as well near the Baker ski area in deep, stable powder:

After mondays great powder, i wanted more. Figuring that north aspects were the best places i thought the whitesalmon could deliver. It was a long walk to find a few good turns. The salmon is feeling the low snowpack and had a lot of crevasses and broken up ice to make hard to find good fall line skiing. All in all a good day, but a long one car to car was about 14 hours of skinning. – Adam Roberts
