Female BASE Jumper Critically Injured After Parachute Failed to Fully Open in Colorado

A female BASE jumper was critically injured in an accident yesterday when her parachute failed to fully open. 

Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office received a report about 8:55 am Sunday of the injured BASE jumper. She had jumped from the Black Wall area near Grey Wolf Mountain in the Mount Evans Wilderness, CO.

The sheriff’s office and the Alpine Search and Rescue Team responded to the scene. Two Fight for Life helicopters were airlifting rescuers into the area, according to the release.

The woman, who was found conscious and breathing, was taken off the mountain around 2:40 pm and flown to an area hospital in serious condition.
