NOAA: Up to 5โ€ณ Forecast for Jackson Hole Today | Itโ€™s Snowing Alreadyโ€ฆ

NOAA is calling for 2-5โ€ณ at Jackson Hole ski resort and more in Wyoming today and tonight.  Jackson has already gotten snow today as you can see in the image above. Colorado Is Officially OPEN for the Season with Two Ski Resorts OPEN Right Now:

Mammoth Report: Opening Day is Fast Approaching!

Opening day at Mammoth Mountain is just around the corner! The resort is scheduled to open November 11th and anticipation is high. Cooler temps and some moisture moved through the area over the last 24 hours that brought snow to the upper elevations (dusting all the way down to the base of Chair 2)

SNOW in California Today! | Kirkwood, Squaw/Alpine, Heavenly, Sugar Bowl, Mammoth Photo Tour:

NOAA forecasted a couple of inches of snow for Lake Tahoe & Mammoth today above 8,000-feet and lo and behold, it snowed above 8,000-feet. SNOW at Mammoth, CA Today | Photo Tour:

As NOAA promised yesterday, we got snow at Mammoth all the way down to the Main Lodge at the base.  It looks wet and funky down there, but up at mid-mountain, it looks like a winter storm with wind, snow, and fog. Mammoth is scheduled to open on November 11th.  Thatโ€™s only 15 days awayโ€ฆ  Can they pull it off?  [โ€ฆ]

NOAA: Up to 6โ€ณ of Snow for Colorado Tomorrow & Friday

Colorado has been getting consistent snowfall since last Friday.  Over the weekend, Arapahoe Basin got 12โ€ณ of snow, Loveland got 14โ€ณ, and Wolf Creek claimed 20โ€ณ.  Theyโ€™ve all gotten a bit of snow since then as well adding to those totals. Today, Colorado is forecast to see 2-6 more inches of snow. Loveland opens tomorrow and weโ€™re all waiting for [โ€ฆ]

El Niรฑo Forecasted to Exceed Average Temperatures In Canada During the 2015-2016 Winter

According to Accuweather, the coastal mountains of western British Columbia, including Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort, are expected to see an increase in snowfall this winter. Mild pacific air is expected to be pushed to the region by El Niรฑo and is predicted to result in above average temperatures for the majority of western Canada. Mt. Rose in Tahoe CANCELS Thursday Opening:

Last week, we reported on Mt. Rose ski resort in Lake Tahoeโ€™s announcement on TV that they would open up this Thursday.  We were all a bit doubtful, especially after looking at the forecast for Mt. NOAA: Up To 6โ€ณ of Snow for Utah Thursday!

NOAA just reported that they are forecasting 2-6โ€ณ of snow for the Wasatch Mountains of Utah this Thursday.  Expect some fun hype out of the storm as itโ€™s forecast to drop snow on Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, Solidtude, and Park City. NOAA Map of Dates of First Snowfalls in USA:

NOAA just dropped this interesting map of when each city gets its first snowfall of the year on average. Whatโ€™s scary is the example below from Yamkima, Washington.  Yakima hasnโ€™t had any first snows in October since the 1950s.  They also had never had any first snows in January until the 2010s. NOAA: Snow for Californiaโ€™s Sierra Nevada Today

NOAA is calling for snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California today.  Up to 3โ€ณ of snow is forecast above 9,000-feet in the southern Sierra Nevada.  A dusting is forecast for the northern Sierra Nevada above 8,000-feet.
