With a snowpack that’s still over ten feet deep at mid-mountain, Diamond Peak Ski Resort in North Lake Tahoe recently announced it will extend its season through Monday, May 1, 2023.

This is only the second time in the resort’s history that they’ve offered skiing and riding in May. With 424 inches of snowfall through March 30, the resort is also closing in on the all-time snowfall record of 476 inches set during the 2016-17 winter.

Recent storms just dropped another 20 inches of blower powder on the slopes – a testament to this winter that refuses to give up.

Long-range forecasts eventually call for a more traditional Lake Tahoe spring ski season, with t-shirts and sunscreen replacing balaclavas and mittens as must-have accessories on the slopes.

Pro Tip: Invest in a 2023-24 Diamond Peak season pass today and ski/ride during the extended spring season for free.
