Palisades Tahoe, CA, is thrilled to announce Freedom Fest 2023, a celebration of the close of a season like no other, taking place from July 1 to July 4. This year’s party is even more special, with Alpine being open for skiing and riding into the summertime for the first time in over a decade. With a staggering 723 inches of snowfall, it’s time to carve unforgettable memories on the slopes.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees, Palisades Tahoe has implemented a reserve-in-advance paid parking system from July 1st to July 4th for Freedom Fest. Visitors will have two parking options available:

  •  If guests want to park at Alpine, they must reserve their parking spot in advance and pay $10. Proceeds from the paid parking reservations will be donated to the non-profit Truckee North Tahoe Transportation Management Association, supporting innovative transportation solutions in the region. To secure your spot and contribute to a worthy cause, please visit our booking page.
  • Free parking will be available at The Village at Palisades Tahoe, there are no reservations required. Lots will be first-come, first-served. A convenient shuttle service connecting the two base areas will run approximately every 15 minutes from 7:30 am to 5 pm. We highly encourage carpooling with friends and family to alleviate traffic congestion on Highway 89 and access roads into the valleys.

On June 30th, skiing and riding will be available from 8 am to 2 pm at Alpine. For June 30th only, parking will be free at Alpine, and there will be no shuttle service from The Village at Palisades Tahoe on that day. Additionally, the Aerial Tram will commence its daily summer operations starting on June 30th, offering free rides for 2023/2024 Ikon Passholders. Kids under 12 will ride the Tram for free, and all adults Tram tickets come with a $5 off coupon for Rocker, the signature restaurant in The Village at Palisades Tahoe, or Sun Bowl, a refreshing poke & acai bowl spot.

Starting on July 1st, the Freedom Fest celebration officially begins. Experience the thrill of summer skiing and riding while enjoying the electrifying beats from our talented artist lineup. Plus, don’t miss the opportunity to grab our limited-edition event T-shirt. Lift operations throughout the weekend will follow the 8 am to 2 pm schedule, weather and conditions permitting.

Headlining the festival on July 1st is none other than Surf Mesa, a 20-year-old songwriter and producer from Seattle who creates nostalgic electronic ballads that offer a refreshing escape. Surf Mesa continues to craft catchy pop music from his home, spreading positivity and joy to listeners worldwide. On July 2nd, enjoy Forester, an indie electronic duo from Los Angeles consisting of David Parris and Xander Carlson. Their music aims to evoke nature’s soothing and nourishing experiences, such as mountain views, sunsets, and starry nights. Forester’s vision extends beyond music, with a commitment to conservation and environmental preservation. Our headliner for July 3rd will be announced soon.

July 4th

On July 4th itself, free commemorative t-shits will be given out to the first 500 individuals visiting Alpine. Additionally, the t-shirts will be available for purchase throughout the weekend at Estelle Sports. These shirts serve as a memento of the remarkable snowfall Palisades Tahoe experienced during the previous season.

In the afternoon, get ready to rock to Wild Child, a noted Doors cover band that is sure to heighten the vibe. Also, on the evening of July 4th, you can enjoy Bluesdays, Tahoe’s must-see summer music series featuring top blues musicians every Tuesday from June 13 through August 29, 2023. Immerse yourself in the captivating blues performances by Mighty Mike Schermer Band at 3 pm and Roy Rogers & the Delta Rhythm Kings at 6 pm.
