Boreal Mountain in Lake Tahoe, California will be open today from 12pm – 8pm. Beginning on Friday, they’ll be open from 9am – 9pm everyday until the end of the season. Boreal is the first ski resort open in California this season. They’ll have the Castle Peak Quad running with some park features. Discovering Snow at Donner Pass Resorts – 03/10/14

It was our time to head North. The North Shore of Tahoe to be precise. With a warm storm looming for Monday morning on Donner Pass, it was a perfect opportunity to grab some slushy night skiing turns at Boreal and then shred some Sugar Bowl pow the following morning. Boreal was perfect with warm temps, soft snow, and a glorious sunset. At 7am the next morning, we noticed something strange coming down from the sky…SNOW! Boreal Ski Resort OPENS Tomorrow, October 32nd!

Boreal ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA will be open tomorrow, Friday October 32nd (…November 1st), 2013. They will only be open just Friday, the Nugget chairlift will be open, they’ll have 4 terrain park features, tickets will be $20, they’ll be open from noon – 8pm. On Friday afternoon, they’ll have a look around and make a game time decision on wether they’ll be open Saturday and/or Sunday. Boreal Mountain Resort is offering a small taste of winter on Friday, October 32 at noon (yes, folks…November 1)! Boreal, CA May OPEN This Week | ← This Photo From Today…

Boreal ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA is always the first ski resort to open in California. They usually get open in October with jumps and rails and one lift open. This year, it wasn’t looking too good for an October opening. And then it snowed a foot at Boreal yesterday. They are forecasted to get 3-6 more inches of snow today. Boreal has had their snowmaking machines on and they are piling the white stuff up as fast as they can. It looks feasible to open for a day or two this weekend. The forecast gets pretty warm this weekend, in the 60s, so if Boreal opens, it’ll likely just be a one weekend affair… for now. […]
