Well, for Barrow, Alaska, this is not much of a dream but an annual reality. However, on the flip side, they experience two months of ominous darkness every winter. This [โ€ฆ]

Lake Tahoe, CA Backcountry Report: Sunset Skiing Above a Shimmering Lake Tahoe in Orange & Pink Light

Report from January 20, 2023 Yesterday morning I got out early with the boys and skied in the shade. The snow was good. I landed an air I shouldnโ€™t have and we were all stoked. I then went for a lakeside sunset session. I invited many, but all were busy or too tired after the ferocious snow cycle weโ€™ve had [โ€ฆ]

Lake Tahoe, CA Report: Surreal Pink Sunset Skiing Above Lake Tahoe

Report from December 13, 2022 I awoke in Park City, UT, at 4 am. On the road by 4:30 am. It was dumping snow in the Wasatch as I crested and fell down Parleys Summit. I felt a little crazy for leaving powder, but I knew what awaited me on the side of the desertโ€ฆ โ€œThe Three Musketeersโ€ on audiobook. [โ€ฆ]

Amazing Glamping at Bear Valley, CA

Bear Valley, California has the best glamping setup this summer. Bear Valley, located on Hwy 4 in Californiaโ€™s Sierra Nevada mountains, is just 32 miles south of Lake Tahoe as the crow flies. The quaint mountain town has great year-round activities: cross-country and alpine skiing in the winter then mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, and hiking in the summer. โ€œImagine waking [โ€ฆ]

Beautiful Photograph Shows Unedited Image of Sunset Split Down the Middle

split sunset, sunset, photograph

A sunset photo recently baffled viewers on social media. An unusual optical effect made the sunset resemble a split-screen image showing two very different skies side by side. On the right side is a horizon saturated with shades of red and yellow, an image of a beautiful sunset. But on the left side, the sky is darker and more ominous. [โ€ฆ]

Sunset in Lake Tahoe Tonight | Photo Tour

tahoe

Lake Tahoe put on a show tonight. The coming storm sped up winds and created layered lenticular clouds. They hovered above the lake at dusk and reflected the reds, oranges, and pinks of the evening sun. From a pier Tahoe City, California the show was stunning. Both East and West light up. The only thing lacking in tonights sunset was snow. There is absolutely no snow in Tahoe right now. It is still early, but Tahoe looks naked. She looked great naked tonight, but tomorrow, we want to see her dressed in white. [โ€ฆ]

Turnagain Arm, Alaska Sunset

A fantastic sunset on Turnagain Arm on the way to Girdwood, Alaska in the unreal Alaska spring of 2012.  People will talk about Spring 2012 as the spring with no clouds in Alaska, which never happens.  It was clear most everyday for all March and April, making for enormous amounts of days on snow.
