NOAA’s Official March Outlook for the USA:

NOAA just released their outlook for March 2015 for the USA this weekend. This outlook is not what skiers and riders in the West were hoping for. This outlook does not shout “Miracle March” at all… This outlook offer any assistance to the historic drought in California… What this forecast does show is continued snow and cold on the East Coast. This outlook also looks good for Taos, New Mexico and Southwest Colorado. This outlook shows above average precipitation for Southern Alaska, the Southwest, the Southeast, and the East Coast. […]

NOAA’s Official October Outlook for the USA:

NOAA's temperature forecast for October in the USA showing above average temperatures on the West Coast, Alaska, the Gulf Coast and the East Coast. Below average temperature are forecast in New Mexico and Colorado.

NOAA has just released their forecast for the month of October in the USA. NOAA’s forecasts continue to display a strong tendency towards El Nino patterns despite El Nino chances of occurring sliming down each month. Early snowstorms get us excited, often allow for some backcountry skiing, and help the early bird ski resorts open their doors. October snowfalls can also lead to rotten winter snowpacks via faceting in the Rockies and elsewhere. […]

NOAA’s long-range forecast for the month of January is showing us more of what we’ve been seeing in the USA. Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming are forecasted to receive above average precipitation. California is bulls eyed to receive below average precipitation.
