Good news for ski travelers: Southwest Airlines announces that it will now serve Steamboat Springs, CO through the Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN). Starting by the end of 2020, Southwest will be providing seasonal service with direct flights from Denver, CO.

Steamboat Ski Resort in Steamboat Springs, CO is a world-class ski area known for its vast, challenging terrain and famous Champagne Powder.

This is big news for skiers and snowboarders of Denver and elsewhere who can just hop on a plane and be in Steamboat an hour later, maybe even skiing that same day.

Southwest Airlines will allow for up to two free checked bags (size and weight limits apply), according to marketwatch.com. Ski and snowboard equipment, which includes one pair of skis or one snowboard, one set of poles, and one pair of ski/snowboard boots encased in a container(s) acceptable to Southwest, counts as one checked bag even if tagged separately.
