Oregon Opens 670 Mile Mountain Bike Trail -Across the Entire State!

Bike packing, anyone?  That answer should unequivocally be yes, as Oregon has just opened a trail running the entire state, north to south.  It’s dubbed the “Oregon Timber Trail” as an ode to the many logging roads that make this traverse possible; but don’t be fooled, for half of the route is sweet singletrack. The 668 miles is broken […]

Climbers Saved after Spending Night at 8,000 feet on a Ledge

A group of climbers sumitted the Little Sister -a peak located near Canmore, Alberta- just a little too late Saturday evening.  The skies started to darken, and with waning time, the climbers opted to rappel down familiar terrain that they had just ascended rather than trek through the rest of the route. The group decided to use a rock horn as an anchor, which […]

Pro Trials Rider Kenny Belaey Gaps Over 1,800′ Drop in Norway

Norway

Belgian trials rider Kenny Belaey is no stranger to high altitude stunts.  Back in 2015, he rode his bike on a slackline over a 365 foot drop in the French Alps.  But at least that stunt had him clipped to the line, where a fall on this bunny hop over a gap in Norway would have surely left him tumbling […]

Rafting the Truckee Will Have to Wait, Again

The year’s ample snowfall made for all-time skiing during the winter; but the resulting melt is proving to be quite a challenge for rafting in Truckee this summer.  At first, the river was dangerously high, even unlawful to enter.  But now, there isn’t enough water to stop your behind from dragging on the bottom. How did this fluctuation happen?  Since Lake […]
