The Top 13 DEEPEST Snowpacks in North America Right Now:

Snowbird, UT

The snow finally returned to California last weekend, but they’re going to need much, much more to catch up with some of these resorts. Could the 4-FEET forecast for Tahoe this weekend make up for a dry February? Alpental and Mt. Baker, WA are still the only resorts to smash through the 200″ mark. British Columbia is also having a pretty […]

El Nino has been good to Western North American snowpacks. As per normal, the West Coast is dominating this list with only one ski resort in the Top 10 being outside the West Coast.  Props to Wolf Creek for raking in the snow this year.   California, Oregon, Washington, B.C., Alaska.  This is where the big snow falls and this is […]

The Top 5 Deepest Snowpacks on the West Coast:

Chris Benchetler ripping Mammoth pow on March 2nd, 2015. photo: mammoth

It’s been a challenging snowfall year on the West Coast but there have been some bright spots. Those bright spots are also the high spots. Mt. Bachelor, OR is the highest elevation ski resort in all of Washington and Oregon. Mt. Rose is the highest ski resort in Nevada (and Tahoe). Mammoth is the highest ski resort in California. These higher elevation ski resorts hang onto snow and get through warm spells better than their lower elevation counterparts. If you’re searching for snow this spring, search high. These snowpack numbers are taken from the ski resorts’ websites from their upper mountains on Thursday, […]

Top 10 Deepest Snowpacks in the USA:

The East Coast has the 2nd deepest snowpack in the USA right now? The East Coast owns 5 of the top 10 deepest snowpacks in the USA right now? The answer to both of these questions is YES. The East Coast is on fire right now. It’s a bizarre year, there’s no doubt about it. The Pacific Northwest usually dominates this list but right now there’s only one PNW ski resort on this list right now, Mt. Bachelor in Oregon. The Northern Rockies also make a strong showing taking 3 of the top 4 spots. Lets hope things stay snowy in the Rockies and East while the snow machine finally turns on […]

Top 5 Deepest Snowpacks in the Pacific Northwest:

It’s been a strange year in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) this year yet there have been some bright spots. Mt. Bachelor ski resort in Oregon is the highest elevation ski resort in the PNW and it shows. When high snow levels show up, Bachelor is often high enough to get snow and their higher elevation helps them hang onto snow longer.
Mt Hood in Oregon is doing well also. Likely due to their higher elevation as well. The ski resorts in the PNW with lower elevations are struggling this year due to the higher snow levels. We’ve got our fingers crossed and we’re […]

Top 5 Deepest Snowpacks in The Pacific Northwest Right Now:

The Pacific Northwest from Space.

The Pacific Northwest is having a bit of a funky year with some cold, some warm, some snow, and some rain. Top 10 Deepest Snowpacks in North America:

It’s been an interesting year for snow in North America. That said, the ski resorts with the most snow in North America aren’t too different from a usual year. Alaska, Washington, and British Columbia are usually at the top of the list and this year is no exception. Everyone keeps talking about what a bad year Washington is having, but they have 100 inches of snow on the ground. How bad could it be? […]
