1 Minute of Face Shots: Video Proof of Snow in Tahoe It has been far too long since skiers in Tahoe have had the pleasure of a genuine powder face shot, but after this weekend’s storm skiers all across the basin were able to get in deep and remember the feeling. The video above chronicles some of the goods that were to be found on Mt. Rose Saturday morning and Squaw Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Kicking Horse Update: Nipple Deep Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has powder. ‘Nough said. During a week that has seen a pineapple express decimate ski hills all over BC and Washington, you don’t have to say much to sell a resort. The fact that we are skiing makes KHMR a destination. I don’t even need to bring up the 40cm we’ve had in the last 24hrs, but because my parents told me to share, I will. Face shots abounded at Sugar Bowl today. Sugar Bowl was likely the only ski resort in Lake Tahoe that actually had a natural base of snow covering its mountain slopes. That previously existing base gave the 22 new inches of snow something to sit on top […] Conditions Report Miles Clark | December 7, 2013 4 Comments
3 Guys Getting Shot in the Face… in Japan Japan. The terrain isnโt always scary, cliffy, nor insane, but the snow is. The snow is certainly insane. It can be hard to capture. It can be hard to explain. Itโs not hard to ski… You drop in, there are no tracks, itโs waist deep; you flow. You start with flow. After a hint of speed, flow quickly becomes float. Float leads to higher speed and a feeling of weightlessness. Eventually, youโll need to dump speed. Turn. Turning becomes sinking. Sinking leads to delving […] Miles Clark | November 1, 2013 5 Comments
Over-The-Head-Face-Shots @ Alta Yesterday | Video & Photos I can confirm that is video is actually from yesterday, October 30th, 2013. The snow guns were most definitely on and the snow was finally getting deep enough to let the skis run a little more. Props to Nate and company for getting into Eagles Nest. That is a great early season zone if you have the stones to go ski it. It is mad stumpy in there:) This photo is from a zone near the the top of the Collins chair at Alta.
