Mammoth Report: Nuking Snow Storm Day A storm has been forecast to hit Mammoth all week and today, it came forth with fury. The day started off with light snow in town about 8am with no wind. By the time we got up onto the mountain around noon, the snow had already piled up somewhere around 1-3″ deep and the intensity of the snow kept ratcheting up. By the time we left the mountain today at 1:30pm, it was full-on nuking on the mountain and felt a helluva lot more like mi-February than May 14th. Up to 12″ of Snow for Mammoth, CA Today & Tomorrow Mammoth ski resort is open and expecting 4-12 inches of snow today and tomorrow. Mammoth plans on closing on Sunday… unless they get enough snow out of this storm to stay open another week. NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for today and tomorrow with up to a foot of new snow forecast for the Pacific Crest. Mammoth just might close the season on a couple of powder days.
