The Science of the “Yard Sale!!!” No doubt the day had been marvelous. So far it had all come together. The snow, the sun, the snow. It was epic, it was sick, it was radtastic, it was probably the best you’ve ever skied. That was untilโฆ Yard Sale!!! The yard sale is libel to strike at any time. In the back country. To ride the fine line that resides between control and a massive explosion of limbs and […] Brains Andy Hays | March 5, 2020 10 Comments

Mammoth Conditions Report: Perfect Park & Classic Corn Mammoth opens at 7:30am right now, which is very cool. The racer kids were loving it. We got on the hill by 8am but there was a large lenticular cloud that wouldn’t move. That cloud kept the snow hard until the sun finally moved past it at 10am. After 10am things got soft quick. The park was unreal. Kids were going nuts. Park laps only take 5 minutes and there are 2 sizable jumps. If you hit both jumps every run, you can hit 24 jumps per hour, which is nice. The park was good from 10am until closing at 2:30. So damn fun. “We were skiing laps so fast. I did so many things that scared me.” – Lewis The upper mountain was soft by 11am.
