Itโ€™s very likely that this is the last patch of snow in the Eastern United States. Tuckerman Ravine is on the flanks of Mt. [โ€ฆ]

White Mountain National Forest Service Close Section of Tuckerman Ravine Due to Spring Snowmelt

Tuckerman ravine, closed, Tuckerman

Annual spring snowmelt creates significant glide cracks, or crevasses, and undermined snow in the Lip area of Tuckerman Ravine, NH so weโ€™ve had to close a section of the Tuckerman Ravine Trail where it passes through the Lip as a safety measure. These restrictions are necessary for public safety and to protect National Forest property. Tuckerman: Quest for the the Unknown

The story doesnโ€™t begin here, but many years ago. For as long as can remember the photograph hung on the living room wall. For a time I believe it resided over the fish tank. Trip Report: Mt. Washington, NH & Tuckerman Ravine

An excellent weather window for the Presidential Range meant it was time to not only check Mt. Washington off my summit list, but most importantly recon some ski terrain in and around Tuckerman Ravine. Walking out the next morning validated our decision to go on a Friday when the crowds would be lighter [โ€ฆ]
