VIDEO: Future Freeheel – A Telemark Short by Ty Dayberry Telemark skiing has always been a niche sport. One that attracts people that like a surfy feel of the turn and being different than the status quo. Ty Dayberry caught on to these aspects of the sport from a young age and has been on the forefront of progression in the Telemark industry for years. In his film “Future Freeheel” he discusses why he likes to telemark, how telemark skiing is its own sport, and who/what influences the way he rides. The film showcases telemark skiing from Erik Nordin, Andreas Sjobeck, and of course Ty Dayberry and sets the stage for an emerging generation of ripping tele skiers. VIDEO: Freeride Telemark Skiing | Squaw Valley, Tahoe, Alaska – Bevan Waite’s 2016/17 Season Edit Last season was pretty insane to say the least in Tahoe. It also happened to be my first year moving up to Squaw Valley and I could not have picked a better year. Squaw Valley had the most snow it’d had in 6 years which opened my eyes to what was possible to ski there. Here’s to a season of pushing my boundaries with broken bindings ;). Hope y’all like the video. Featured Video Bevan Waite | November 8, 2017 0 Comments
Local South Lake Tele Skier Shreds Flagpole Peak Ty Dayberry has been a notable tele skier since he was a kid. Born and raised in Meyers, CA, he’s had some quality time to explore the area. He’s been climbing and skiing flagpole peak his whole life and he seems to have it pretty dialed. “Its rad to progress on the same canvas year after year. It’s such an accessible zone that holds good snow, even in the late spring.” Looks pretty darn tasty, Ty. Bevan Waite | May 17, 2017 1 Comment

Mt. Hood Conditions Report | Spring Day in “Juneuary” For the dedicated skiers in Oregon, January ( Juneuary ) never seems to be a good month. To wrap up the general trend, the Cascades are dumped on in mid-late december enough to hold a base to open the ski areas. When Juneuary finally comes around, the snow coverage on the 1st of the year is the best coverage the mountains will have for exactly one month, 31 days, or 744 hours. The conditions range in severity from ice-rink-hard to mashed potatoes, Cascade concrete, and slurpie slush. Does this suck? Yes and no. Yes because, well, skiing pow would certainly be much better. No because despite the sub par conditions, the […] Conditions Report Bevan Waite | January 27, 2015 0 Comments

Friday Fun: Telemark Waterskiing Snow humans have a hard time during summer. While everyone else is celebrating what is supposed to be the best time of year, we can be sullen and unmotivated. Especially in July when you realize just how far away ski season really is. There are brief moments of respite. Patch skiing, surfing, mountain biking, and telemark waterskiing. We suppose that sometimes, you just need to put your boots on, no mater the situation. This ends up looking pretty fun and not as dangerous and silly as it sounds at first. At least he’s skiing again. […] Surf SnowBrains | August 1, 2014 1 Comment
