Brought to you by 10 Barrel Brewing Report from February 16, 2021 It just keeps getting better in the Wasatch this week. VIDEO: Utah Avalanche Center Forecaster Warns That it Will Be โ€œA Dangerous Winter in the Wasatch Once It Snowsโ€

โ€œThere is no doubt that weโ€™re going to have a dangerous winter in the Wasatch once it snows.โ€ โ€“ Trent Meisenheimer, Utah Avalanche Center Lack of snowfall has caused the existing snow in the Wasatch to become weak, faceted, and sugaryโ€”the perfect recipe for avalanches.  And worse yet, thereโ€™s no snow expected for northern Utah for at least another week, [โ€ฆ]

Winter Returns to Salt Lake City

In what has been an unusually warm and dry season, winter could finally be returning to the mountains of Utah. This past weekend brought a storm to parts of Utah, bringing snow to the Northern Wasatch range. Deer Valley, Canyons, and Park City all received between 5 โ€“ 7 inches, while Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude each got about a foot of fresh powder. The storm brought snow to Utahโ€™s southern valleys, the first time since January. On Monday morning, snow reports saw 2-3 inches near Lake Powell, 5 inches at Kanab, 9 inches at Kodachrome Basin Park, and 11 inches in Cedar City. And thereโ€™s more to come.
