124″ of Snow Forecast for Chile This Weekend!

Wow. 124″ of snow are forecast for Valle Nevado ski resort in Chile this weekend. Valle Nevado had nothing but brown dirt and rocks until 5 days ago. Now, they’re about to get dumped on and potentially be open with terrific conditions next week. It’s been so bad in northern Chile so far this winter that no ski resorts have opened up yet. The snow is forecast to start today, get insane on Saturday and Sunday, then taper off on Monday into a clear week next week.

NOAA: 6-18″ of Snow Forecast for Lake Tahoe Today

Another Pacific storm is impacting Lake Tahoe today. NOAA is forecasting 6-18″ of snow above 7,000-feet. Snow levels started at 8,000-feet but are expected to drop to lake level by Monday morning. Tahoe’s most recent storm dropped about 12-inches of snow on most of the West Side ski resorts. Mt. Rose reported 28″ from the storm.
